The Crowdsourcing Dilemma [On the Media]
July 09, 2010

My feedback:

The jury is out on crowdsourcing and FREE for that matter. If you read and follow Jaron Lanier or Douglas Rushkoff, you can clearly see where things are going (and where they came from). A must-read for people not familiar with this issue is an article by Rushkoff which starts with "First they came for the musicians…." and you will realize the consequences of this short-term thinking. A great friend compared this to a hamster eating its young, but it's not too late to change direction -- I firmly believe that the future of the Web is in great design. Great designers do not work for free!

Life Inc. by Douglas Rushkoff

From Douglas Rushkoff.

Here's a new and clean Vimeo copy of the Life Inc. movie - for your watching and sharing pleasure. Please do me the favor of spreading this message far and wide. I think we've got an opportunity to take advantage of the current financial crisis, and turn commerce into something that benefits real people.
